and a hope
beyond reach.
When she met France
in reality,
she fell in love
with the country
even more.
She lived
with France;
she shared
its joys
and suffers.
But she had to vegetate in a savage country far of France, and she felt unbearable pain.
Each return to France was fête, the hour of parting was tears.
It is only after her death that she has joined France forever.
